MY STORY - Adrienne Decker, CPCP

A military wife and mom of two, we moved around the country with various deployments, settling down in Monmouth Beach in 2009. With so much mobility early in my kids’ lives, I made the very conscious and rewarding decision to be a stay-at-home mom to focus on my family. As my kids started to gain some independence (read: need mom a little less), I began to think in terms of what should come next. In my mid 30’s, thinking about starting a career – I turned to what has long been a passion of mine. Skincare, make up and generally making people look pretty. Having a little sister, I grew up with the ultimate muse and test client. Then it was my daughter. Then it was my friends. I found myself becoming more and more interested in the latest procedures the industry had to offer. I can’t say I had a eureka or light bulb moment. It was more of a process that unfolded organically. I started to be drawn to permanent cosmetics – fascinated by microblading and how it could completely transform a face by subtly shaping and shading the eyebrow. Maybe it was all the time I was spending doing my own eyebrows each day. Or the amount of money I was spending on serums, creams, and concealers. I was after all – in my mid-thirties and in need of some (ok a lot) of this stuff. Before I knew it, I was in school, training and apprenticing, gaining credentials and certifications. Face Forward was born. My ultimate goal is to offer procedures that gradually and effectively transform our skin and appearance from the inside. FACE FORWARD offers exactly these services in a beautiful setting where you can kick off your shoes, plug in your computer, take that Zoom call and occasionally enjoy a glass of Prosecco. Fun fact – I nearly embarked on an interior design path with Pottery Barn prior to enrolling in my first permanent cosmetics class. Turns out, couches are not forever no matter how much we spend on them.

As an add-on to your treatment, you might catch her singing in our studio. Not like a sing-in-the-shower Saturday Night Live skit but since she has made a few callbacks for The Voice – we might be able to give our Spotify playlist a break and let her takeover. She is a lover of animals and dreams of owning a horse one day.

Kristin Bacany obtained her credentials through the Brookdale College Massage Therapy program, which combines over 600 hours of in class and clinical training. She is New Jersey Massage and Bodywork board certified which oversees Swedish, myofascial release techniques, NMT Sports massage, chair and prenatal massages. She has additional studies in anatomy & physiology, kinesiology, pathology, reflexology and aromatherapy.

Originally enrolled as a Psychology student, she quickly realized that health of mind and body is critical to mental health and happiness. She has a calming and healing approach and credits her success to what she has been told is her healing energy (trust us – she has it). Much like her teammates, she has a love of singing and dancing and quote: “Misses live music like crazy”. She is self-described cat mom (not cat lady – there is a difference) and currently has three fur babies as roommates.
